- Gigaba denied in Parliament yesterday that Norma ever worked at the department
An old TV interview of Norma Gigaba has resurfaced on social media to haunt Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba.
During his cross examination by EFF leader Floyd Shivambu in Parliament yesterday, Gigaba denied that his wife, Norma, ever worked at Home Affairs during his first stint there.
However, Norma appears to suggest in the interview that she worked with her husband to solve IT challenges at the department.
Hloni Nyetanyane, a columnist, shared the video on Twitter with the caption:
Malusi Gigaba said, 'My wife has never, does not, would never and will never work for [a] department where I'm deployed.' Well... Mrs Gigabyte says they worked together at Home Affairs. #Gigaba lied again. #EskomInquiry
In the clip, Norma said:
We did the transformation together, of technology. I wanted to help him because I thought that there were long queues at Home Affairs.
I know IT and I know, most of the time, their systems are very slow. So, how do we speed up? So, it helped him adapt to technology. I was there.
Mzansi netizens were quick to respond to the clip. See some of their reactions below.
