Coach Gavin Hunt Admits Kaizer Chiefs Are in a Tough Situation

- After their 2-1 loss against Cape Town City, Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt says it will not help to say whatever he is thinking at the moment

- The Amakhosi boss is worried about their struggles since taking over at Chiefs and admits they are in a bad situation

- Meanwhile, Hunt has also lamented the fact he could not get his regular strikers to find the back of the net

Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has admitted that his charges are going through a rough patch after Kaizer Chiefs' 2-1 loss at the hands of Cape Town City. Amakhosi could not claim the full three points at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday afternoon and the four-time Premier Soccer League winner is also concerned.

Hunt was speaking to the media after the DStv Premiership match, saying as much as he knows what he wants, it doesn’t matter what is going on in his mind. Hunt said:

“The bottom line is not what I think but what the club thinks. I know what is needed and what is not needed, but right now it does not really matter what I think.

"It is the situation and a tough situation, but we've got to look forward and try to finish well. Now it will be tough but it will also be tight because everybody must play everybody."

Chiefs’ struggles are also compounded by the fact that Hunt doesn’t have a reliable source of goals upfront.

Last season’s top performers such as Leonardo Castro, Samir Nurkovic and Khama Billiat are all struggling this term. He added:

"We have a lot of opportunities in that position, and I think we should have had somebody in double figures, that is for sure, but then it hasn’t been because of unavailability.

"There has been a lot of missed games and lot of other reasons but there is one main factor and that is out of my hands. It is not the end of the world, but we have certainly missed a lot of opportunities.

"But we have also let in a lot of goals this year which, in these types of games, you can defend better and still win these types of games.

"For me, I must get that right but we need to be better from the start of games, that is for sure. We should be up for every game and you cannot pick and choose which games you want to be up for. That is something that I must instil into players but that takes time."
