The ANC Women’s League is mourning the loss of its stalwart MPL Jacqueline Mofokeng and her devoted daughter due to Covid-19 complications.

Jacqueline's daughter, Thato Mofokeng, 38, unfortunately succumbed to Covid-19-related complications while undergoing treatment at a Pretoria hospital. The news must have proved too much for the elderly politician as she passed away her sleep only a day later.

"Covid 19 claims the life of Hon. Mofokeng, ANC MP (62 yrs) and her daughter (38 yrs). She died exactly a day after her daughter. It’s truly a sad story and it has happened in so many families. My prayers are with the rest of the Mofokeng family, who are also in quarantine"
