Jacob Zuma: Human Rights Attorney Offers Former Pres Pro Bono Work

- Reports have revealed that a Human Rights attorney has pledged his allegiance to former president Jacob Zuma by offering his services

On Thursday, 22 April, Richard Spoor, a South African Human Rights attorney, took to Twitter to offer former president Jacob Zuma his legal services on a pro bono basis.

The offer was presented following Zuma's legal team giving formal notice of the withdrawal of their legal services on behalf of Zuma in the Pietermaritzburg high court. The withdrawal reportedly had immediate implications.

TimesLIVE reported that the withdrawal had immediate implications for the corruption trial as it could provide JZ with grounds to seek yet another postponement.

Following reports by SABC News, Zuma has been keeping himself quite busy as of late. He recently addressed the ANC branches while speaking at the celebration of his 79th birthday; insisting that they should not remain silent if elected leaders go against what is best for the party.

According to News24 Zuma expressed his views while talking to a small group consisting of mainly young adults that the ANC branches need to reclaim their, power emphasising that branches need to speak less and act more.

In other news about Zuma, Briefly News recently reported on Zuma's son, Duduzane, returning to Durban to celebrate his father's birthday. Duduzane received a welcome reserved only for celebrities when he arrived at his father's birthday party that was being thrown for him by the Sharks Board in Umhlanga.

Upon his arrival, Zuma was bombarded with greetings and requests for selfies by some of the hundred guests who were in attendance to celebrate former president, Jacob Zuma's birthday which was earlier this month.

Later on, his father arrived at the party and received what can positively be described as an even warmer welcome from his many fans. A clip shared online also by @yasantha, shows a crowd of people dancing and singing cheerfully while Zuma smiles and laughs happily.
