Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has praised himself for guiding the club to a vital win against Mamelodi Sundowns last weekend.

The Soweto giants claimed the full three points as they handed Masandawana their first loss of the season in the DStv Premiership.

Chiefs fought back to bag a 2-1 lead and secured the crucial points, but the big talking point came when Khune denied Kermit Erasmus in the dying minutes of the clash.

The Bafana Bafana international has come under heavy criticism this season where many of the fans felt he gave away cheap and silly goals.

But with that superb save against the reigning DStv Premiership champions, Khune could have restored the faith of many of his fans.

Briefly News takes a look at the comments from social media where some have reminded him that Chiefs is struggling because of errors. Khune tweeted:

"Let’s take a moment today and celebrate yourself. We don’t celebrate ourselves except for big moments; birthdays, weddings, etc.
"You are alive during a time great change. You’re doing great. Give yourself some love."

Just before the match, Briefly News reported that Khune had warned Sundowns, that they are coming for a war on Sunday afternoon.

The Amakhosi veteran said they are a big team and cannot afford to drop points in the DStv Premiership, especially as they are licking their wounds heading to Tshwane.

Chiefs lost 2-1 to Cape Town City during the week at FNB Stadium and their mission was to avenge the 3-0 loss they suffered against the Brazilians in the first round.
