Although Thato Molamu is best known for his acting, it turns out he is also big on entrepreneurship and making a difference.
He recently graduated from Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) after completing a short course on Entrepreneurial Skills Development, Briefly.co.za learned.
Thato, who stars as Bakang in Mzansi Magic's The Queen, juggles his acting with radio and TV presenting as well as his businesses.
Speaking to channel24.co.za, Thato said he owns Gateway Media Pty Ltd, whose main focus is media solutions and customer experience.
In addition, he established the Thato Molamu Foundation. He explained its mission:
[It's] a mindset change platform using Creative Arts to build self-confidence in young people in the townships to become economic players and entrepreneurs. The principle stems from the concept that with information, you can change the world.

The 33-year-old actor bemoaned the high rate of startup failures in South Africa caused by lack of proper planning. He quipped, "If you plan to fail, you fail to plan."
He said this year, he will embark on public speaking with a focus on entrepreneurship. His foundation also has youth leadership and development programmes.
He advised young people to work hard:
There is so much joy in discovering new possibilities and I urge more entrepreneurs to go to school, read more about business, [and] follow more business people on social media because the kind of following that you keep will determine your future and your success.
