Ace Magashule puts his foot down: No party will tell the ANC what to do!

- Magashule says that the ANC will not be bullied into choosing who will be the mayor of Nelson Madela Bay

- He also announced the female premiers who have been appointed to Mpumalanga and the Free State

- The ANC will not be manipulated anymore and Magashule says that he will do his best to steer the ship in the right direction

The ANC party secretary-general has put his foot down and said that they will not be bullied into choosing someone to appoint as mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay.

This was a statement given at the Luthuli House in Johannesburg yesterday, at a media launch.

EFF leader, Julius Malema, had stated that he would prefer someone like former deputy finance minister, Mcebisi Jonas. This is where Magashule’s statement steamed from.

“We are not going to be told by any party how we must deal with issues. They can’t be telling us who must be our candidates. I’m sure the ANC will engage everybody.”

Magashule also stated that there will be female premiers appointed to Mpumalanga and the Free State. Sisi Ntombela is the premier elect for the Free State and Refilwe Mtshweni for Mpumalanga.

He urged that he will do all that he can to ensure promising direction.

“I promise to do the best I can to make sure we steer the ship in the right direction.”

Briefly.co.za learnt that Ntombela gave statement that she knew it would be tough for her as a woman to lead the Free State, but that she is so ready for it.

“But I’m ready to do my best.”

Magashule is standing his ground and making change for the best, with no manipulation. It is clear that head strong leaders have been chosen for Mpumalanga and the Free State and we expect nothing less for Nelson Mandela Bay.
