In life, whether it’s business or personal often times one door closing leads to another door opening, sometimes that door leads to places people could never have imagined.
This is the case for the MoFaya energy drinks company which was started by DJ Sbu. He started the company with the aim to help ordinary South Africans help themselves, this achieved by building huge demand for the brand while not making the brand widely available in supermarkets.
The products are sold by more than 2 300 ‘street hustlers’. These men and women take to the streets of Mzansi to sell something other than fruits and vegetables, and can in most instances make enough money to support themselves.
Briefly.co.za gathered that there are tentative plans for an academy which will train would be ‘street hustlers’ in order to help them sell the product.
One reseller had the following to say on Twitter: "I am going to work hard to sell mofaya because you’re the only person in South Africa who is willing to help the unemployed youth to create employment and an opportunity to make money anywhere."
Others resellers say they sell their stock within a couple of minutes of starting their day.
The huge demand, which has been created has given hope to thousands of South Africans who make their living thanks to the product, while no official figures are available it is thought that most people can make upwards of R500 per day.
There are even reports of Zimbabweans wanting to get the product into their country because of the huge demand and near guarantee of success.
