- An Armenian man living in Canada has started an online petition urging his country to provide asylum to white South Africans
- Hazen Odinian is imploring Armenia’s head of immigration to save white South Africans from genocide
- The petition comes after Australia’s home affairs minister said his department was looking into fast-tracking visa applications from white South African farmers
South Africa is making international headlines right at the moment, unfortunately for all the wrong reasons.
First Australia’s controversial and outspoken home affairs minister Peter Dutton angered the South African government when he announced that his department was looking into fast-tracking visa applications from white South African farmers, this he said was to save them from their horrific circumstances.
Now an Armenian man living in Canada, Hazen Odinian, has started an online petition urging Armenia’s head of immigration to offer asylum and permanent residency to white South Africans to save them from genocide.
Briefly.co.za gathered that Odinian notes in his petition that the population of Armenia has been declining since 1993. He notes that Armenia has vast tracts of vacant land and that manpower is needed to fill vacant jobs.
Odinian notes that South Africans are Christian and some of the best farmers in the world.
The department of international relations and cooperation (Dirco) has not commented on the online petition. The earlier issued a stern rebuke of Dutton’s statement.
A spokesperson for Dirco said there was no reason for any country in the world to believe a section of South Africa’s population is in danger from its own democratically elected government.
