Leo Prinsloo, the brave and practical CIT driver who very narrowly escaped harm at the hands of armed thugs who were trying to rob the vehicle he was driving, has now received death threats from an unknown crime syndicate.

The managing director at Fortis Pro-Active Defence Solutions, Deon Coetzee, said that Prinsloo and his family have been placed under protection out of safety concerns following death threats after Prinsloo became an internet sensation because of his bravery in the dashcam footage.

After the clip went viral, Prinsloo detailed how he managed to get out of the situation by always keeping his next step in mind, reports News24.

"I pre-visualised everything I was going to do before I did it and it worked out for me," said Prinsloo in an eNCA interview.

Meanwhile, Briefly News previously reported that the brave CIT driver, now identified as Leo Prinsloo, was calm and extremely courageous as he outwitted would-be robbers during a highly-charged cash-in-transit heist attempt on Thursday, 22 April.

Prinsloo and his partner were set upon by an unknown number of people and fired at. The bullet impact marks were visible on the bulletproof glass of the armoured vehicle. His partner Mtombeni says that it was his first time being shot at while in a vehicle. He also said that he was comforted by the fact that someone as experienced as Prinsloo was with him.
