South African designer Paledi Segapo recently disavowed rapper AKA in what many are seeing as an intentional snub
In a promo recently posted by V-Entertainment for an upcoming 'Fashion Culture' special, Babalwa Mneno made a point and chose to use the rapper's name in her example while part of a panel of people discussing fashion.
Briefly.co.za gathers that it is highly improbably that Segapo would not know who AKA is having dressed the rapper several times in the past few years, most notably for major events in 2012.
He dressed AKA for the 2012 Durban July and the 2012 South African Music Awards, SAMAs. Segapo has also dressed the likes of Donald, Proverb and Black Coffee.
Don Design, believed to be a close friend to AKA, is a part of the panel discussion. He is seen sitting incredibly quietly as the scene unfolds despite the the panel's host, Nomuzi Mabena trying to talk over the awkwardness as can be seen the the video above.
