Ultimatum issued to South African expats and shopowners in Nigeria

Nigerian students have issued an ultimatum to South African businesses in the country, adamant that they should leave. This comes as the African nation condemns alleged xenophobic attacks on their countrymen in Mzansi.

Nigerian students have retaliated in response to supposed xenophobic attacks on their fellow countrymen in South Africa.

SABC reports that the students are adamant that businesses, including cellular behemoth MTN, should leave the country, or else.

The National Association of Nigerian Students have condemned xenophobic attacks in South Africa, with president Danielson Akpan saying:

"We hereby officially ask that all South Africans and their businesses should leave Nigeria. We are giving ( a ) seven day ultimatum for this to be carried out."

However, citizens in the country are not as convinced that this is the way to go, raising concerns that the companies leaving could raise issues among Nigerians such as unemployment and economic difficulties.

Briefly.co.za reported earlier that Soweto recently suffered attacks on foreign nationals, with shops looted by riled residents.
