Ramaphosa has finally addressed the pressing issues in a televised address on Thursday.
Although no formal details were provided in terms of an action plan, Ramaphosa touched on certain proposals that will be tabled.
Ramaphosa said, "We are going to overhaul and improve the National Register and Violence Against Women and Children. I will urge parliament to amend legislation so that the National Register of Sexual Offenders is made public."
The president also stated that a life sentence should be enforced and that those offenders should not be eligible for an early release.
Ramaphosa also condemned the recent xenophobic attacks that have plagued Gauteng of late.
