Qwabe twins' father speaks out on the recent drama: 'Idols is rigged'

- It has been quite a week for the Qwabe twins; they've been the talk of the town for days

- Both Viggy and Virginia are no longer competing in Idols SA and their fans aren't happy

- Their father, Laurence, has spoken up, saying the competition was not fair

Viggy and Virginia had been crowd favourites but sadly, their time on Idols SA came to an end.

Virginia was booted off and soon after that, Viggy announced she was quitting the competition.

Fans were taken by surprise and rumours started going around that the twins were bullied by Sneziey, but both the show and contestants denied any truth to it.

Now, the girls' father, Laurence Qwabe, has spoken up and he feels the competition is rigged, according to ZAlebs.

Laurence said that the family was tipped off about the elimination of Virginia by insiders; apparently, the higher-ups were pushing for other contestants to win. He is the one who told Viggy to quit.

The Daily Sun quoted Laurence as saying:

"We got the information through insiders who felt sorry for the twins, and also from those who see the counting process. This happened a few days before the Sunday round.

"Idols is rigged and I advised Viggy to withdraw. I don't want my girls to get hurt. They are back home in KZN. I came back with them and I've kept them in a safe place, away from everyone, including the media."

Briefly.co.za gathered that Philly Kubheka, Mzansi Magic's head of PR & Publicity, is communicating with the family about the issues they've raised.

Meanwhile, DJ Tira has shown interest in signing the twins with his label, Afrotainment. Perhaps the girls will be able to build a career away from Idols and all the drama.
