Somizi Mhlongo got burned when he played Nostradamus on the previous lockdown extension, but fans were impressed by his skills and have called upon 'Prophet Somizi' for his next prediction.

Stating anything that would get the people going and is not government-issued info about lockdown, especially when you are a public figure, is a big no-no.

Briefly.co.za reported on the severe consequences Somizi faced when he jokingly said Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula let him know about the extension before the president had even said anything to the nation.

Somizi Mhlongo had to fork out R1 000 for bail following the "bad joke" he made on Mzansi's Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula.

He has been scheduled to appear again at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on 30 April.

The Metro FM presenter was arrested on charges of misinformation or spreading fake news after Mbalula laid the charges against him.

Sunday World reports that national police spokesman, Vish Naidoo, has confirmed that Somizi was briefly detained by the Sandton police last week Thursday after he handed himself over.
