The actor was born on 13th May 1979 in Ga-Dikgale, Polokwane, Limpopo. He was raised by his grandmother Phefi, alongside seven other cousins in Ga-Dikgale village. Since there was no television in their household, he had to pay to watch television at neighbours' houses. Not much is known concerning Aaron Moloisi parents.
He finished his matric at age 16 with the dream of becoming a medical doctor, but he could not join the medical school because his points were lower. In an interview with CNBC AFRICA, he said he had to do BSC in Chemistry and Biology as a bridging course to be able to join medicine later. He did his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Microbiology at the University of Fort Hare from 1996 to 1999.

Soon after completing his BSC in Chemistry and Microbiology, he worked for Computer Configurations Holdings as an Oracle Database Developer from January 2000 to January 2002. He later Joined Liberty Group South Africa as an Oracle Database Management Systems Developer from January 2002 to February 2003.
He made his debut to the television industry in 2002. He began presenting for Take 5 show on SABC1. He then moved to The Big Question show on SABC2 later in 2002 as a field reporter. He was on this show until 2006. He joined Shift as a presenter in 2008.
He decided to give acting a try in 2007. He landed the role of Hector (a gay character) on After Nine, a controversial mini-series on SABC1. In 2016, he featured in the Queen of Katwe movie alongside award-winning actress, Lupita Nyong’o.
