SA wishes President Ramaphosa a speedy recovery as he battles the flu

- President Cyril Ramaphosa is reportedly "really sick" with a common cold, this is according to Minister Jackson Mthembu

- Mthembu went on to Tweet that Ramaphosa is still recovering from the flu and as such, the meeting with NEHAWU is rescheduled to Friday the 25th

- Messages of well-wishes are pouring in on Twitter as tweeps wish the president a speedy recovery

President Cyril Ramaphosa is reportedly ill and South Africans have been sending him messages of support and well-wishes. Minister Jackson Mthembu said earlier this week that the president was “really sick.” Earlier today, Minister Mthembu tweeted:

"President @CyrilRamaphosa is still recovering from flu, as a consequence, the meeting with @NehawuM which was meant to take place tomorrow, has now been rescheduled for this coming Friday, the 25th September 2020."

South Africans have taken to Twitter to share all their unique well-wishes for our president while he fights the flu. Some shared memes whilst others shared messages from their heart hoping that Ramaphosa gets well soon.

@KidiPotse tweeted:

"Tell him Minister that he should recover and get well soon."

@DearKatli said:

"I heard that @CyrilRamaphosa is not feeling well. I'd like to wish him a speedy & full recovery. Get well soon Mr President. May the Lord protect you and shine his light upon your journey #CyrilRamaphosa. Please draft economic growth strategy hle."

@BongMelz added:

Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that President Ramaphosa is on bed rest after falling ill with a common cold. President Cyril Ramaphosa is currently sick and won't be able to attend to engagements until Wednesday, according to the Presidency.

Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu had earlier brought attention to the situation after commenting on NEHAWU's strike. A lack of personal protective equipment and failure to screen health workers on a daily basis were listed as issues by the union.

NEHAWU had delivered a memorandum to Ramaphosa's office earlier in September and was outraged by the lack of response received. Numerous citizens have wished Ramaphosa a speedy recovery.
