Former United States President Barack Obama has refused to take part in the President's Cup tournament and insinuated Republican leader Donald Trump will cheat.
While the Democratic Party member complimented the 45th US president for his "great" skills in playing golf he, however, said he was not looking forward to playing with him in the near future.
While speaking on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday, 30 November, Obama argued Trump had a problem with scoring and keeping track of his strokes, the Independent reported.US Elections: Joe Biden suffers leg injury while playing with his dog
"Listen from what I understand he's actually a pretty good golfer," Obama said before adding: "I understand that shockingly enough, there are sometimes he has problems with the scoring and whether he's keeping track of his strokes."
According to People.com, Trump, 74, reportedly occasionally cheats while playing the sport and at one time even unfairly did so during a round with popular golfer Tiger Woods. Trump owns 17 golf courses across the US and frequently visits them to play in his free time.
In November, the Republican was spotted playing golf as the world celebrated Joe Biden and Kamala Harris' presidential win. Trump is a huge fan of golf and has been criticised several times for playing the sport during important times during his tenure in office.

In 2014 when there was an Ebola outbreak in the US, Trump tweeted:
"President Obama has a major meeting on the NYC Ebola outbreak, with people flying in from all over the country, but decided to play golf!"
Briefly.co.za had previously reported Democrat Biden was the projected winner of the US presidential election which was held on Tuesday, November 4.
Trump still insists the election was marred with fraud but had accepted the commencement of the transition process even though he maintained he would continue fighting.
