1. What motivated you to pursue this world record?
Well I'm releasing a new album and have been dropping a series of events in December tied around the whole thing. I also wanted to do something for my Foundation, our current project is the Siyazigabisa Home of Hope - I wanted to find creative ways to raise money for them.
Also I have been in radio for 18 years and I love it but I wanat to leave radio now. I think I have done enough and want to open up the industry for others. So I decided to leave with a bang.Ntsiki Mazwai shuts down troll who questioned what her job is
2. How was the record-breaking experience?
It was challenging. But I enjoyed it because I was doing something I love. It did not feel like work. When you do something you love, you don't mind doing it for hours. When I first started in radio, I wasn't paid but I was always there, working. I'd do it over and over again.
3. You're officially a world record-breaker, how does that feel?
Humbling. But my mentor used to say that anything you celebrate is already an old dream. I'm happy but I had mentally prepared for the experience. We have been practising since May or June last year. So I'm not going to go on an ego trip ove this. Also the people who came onto the broadcast made it such a pleasant and easy experience. We had stars like Black Coffee and Sis Zodwa (Wabantu).
4. What's next for you?"I am who I am today because of you": SA man thanks mom with new car
I have a new radio station called Homegrown which focuses on the students that we trained ourselves. I want to go back into music and launch my music label. I want to first use my album to open that door. So I will be doing an album tour soon. We can't have lvie events but I will be on radio for interviews. Thereafter, I want to go to Tanzania, Malawi, Kenya and introduce myself to new audiences.
5. Why music?
I love music and I want to make a return. I gave some amazing music a few years ago and I want to go back to that. The industry has changed and I feel challenged to become a major player again. I'm inspired to take my music to the world.
