3 Mzansi Celebrities React to Lockdown Level 1: Easing of Restrictions

South Africa has been fighting against the Covid-19 pandemic for an entire year and the nation has been faced with booze bans, tobacco bans and restricted travel. Briefly.co.za takes a look at celebrities' reactions to the lifting of some restrictions.

President Cyril Ramaphosa addressed the nation on Sunday and lifted a few restrictions of the lockdown. The president also put the country back onto Level 1. Briefly.co.za compiled a list of three celebrities who reacted to the news on social media.

1. Bonang Matheba

Bonang is super excited that some of the lockdown restrictions have been eased. The media personality is thrilled and said:

"Let's rock and roll."

Bonang had previously expressed her frustrations on social media about not being able to travel out of the country for a year, so she seems quite relieved.

2. Pearl Modiadie

The television personality doesn't seem too sure about Level 1 this time around. Pearl is worried that the country might enter into a third wave of Covid-19 infections with the restrictions being lifted.

Pearl is also stressed about getting vaccinated. She just wants to have a vaccination before anyone gets sick around her.

3. Florence Masebe

The actress speaks about the effects of Covid-19 often on social media. When the pandemic came, people around the world were urged to not shake hands and keep a safe distance from each other in public.

Flo says that she's going to stay safe and refrain from shaking hands with people even after the pandemic is over.

Briefly.co.za previously reported that DJ Shimza encouraged Mzansi to behave despite level 1 eased restrictions. President Cyril Ramaphosa has eased the country back into Level 1 of lockdown but DJ Shimza has told citizens of the country to behave themselves.

After the president addressed the nation, fans were excited to see things starting to open up again. Shimza on the other hand made it known that Mzansi is still fighting Covid-19 and people should continue adhering to regulations.

Taking to Twitter, the DJ encouraged Mzansi to continue staying safe. He posted pictures of himself wearing a mask and captioned his post:

"Level 1, keep your masks on!"
