The 75-year-old singer posted pictures of herself getting the first shot and told people how excited she was to finally get vaccinated.

''I am very happy that I am going to get my Moderna shot and I want to tell everybody that you should get out there and get it too. We all want to get back to normal, so this is a shot at getting back to normal,'' she said.

Parton encouraged people not to be carried away by the lies concerning the vaccines and further explained that the sooner everybody gets a shot the better it would be to get life back to what most people knew pre-Covid-19.

She got her first dosage of the Moderna vaccine at Vanderbilt Health in Tennessee.

"I am old enough to get it and I am smart enough to get it,'' she added.
