SA Raises Over R2m in 2 Days Towards Dr Sindi van Zyl's Medical Bills

- South Africans have all joined together and offered overwhelming support for Dr Sindi van Zyl, who is currently hospitalised

A few days ago Dr Sindi van Zyl's friends and family started a crowdfunding campaign in order to pay for her hospital costs after she contracted Covid-19 and her health started deteriorating while in ICU.

In less than a day, they were able to raise close to a million rand and the amount keeps growing daily as many South Africans expressed care and concern for the doctor, who is quite popular on South African social media.

Not long into the clip, the entire family is out of the house before any real physical harm is done. After the house burned down completely, a friend of the family started a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for a new start:

"2021 started in the worst way possible. Nicole and David woke up to loud banging on the front door. Their neighbour was alerting them that the house was on fire. Thank God everyone was able to get out safely, but unfortunately they have lost everything. David and Nicole along with their four children will have to start fresh."
