As they look to beef up their ranks ahead of the 2021/22 DStv Premiership season, Orlando Pirates have signed goalkeeper King Ndlovu. The former Black Leopards stopper has since completed his switch to the Buccaneers as recent media reports suggest.

Ndlovu recently terminated his contract with the Thohoyandou-based club and was already linked with a move to one of the big Gauteng clubs. According to FARPost, the lanky netminder has joined coach Josef Zinnbauer’s men and has also completed his medical tests.

Although there is no confirmation from the 1995 African champions yet, Ndlovu is set to compete against the likes of Richard Ofori, Siyabonga Mpontshane and Wayne Sandilands for a spot between the goalposts.

The 28-year-old gloveman was suspended by Lidoda Duvha after reports emerged that he expressed unhappiness in a fact-finding meeting organised by the club’s hierarchy.

It is reported by KickOff that Ndlovu was sidelined for allegedly standing up for his teammates such as Lifa Hlongwane, Tebogo Makobela, and Onyedikachi Ononogbu, who were side-lined for playing without permission in the Thabiso Semenya Easter Tournament.

Looking at his contribution to the Leopards, who sit at the bottom of the log table with 15 points from 24 games, Ndlovu has featured in 17 matches across all competitions for his former club. The Ga-Rankuwa-born keeper follows players such as Lesedi Kapinga, who has recently jumped the Leopards' ship; the diminutive striker has since joined Mamelodi Sundowns.

Meanwhile, Briefly News reported that Pirates boss Zinnbauer had praised Thabiso Sesane after their recent win over Maritzburg United.

Also known as Pepe, the youngster played against the Team of Choice from start to finish and has attracted the German manager’s applause.

Sesane partnered with Ntsikeleo Nyauza at the heart of the defence following the absence of an experienced duo in Happy Jele and Thulani Hlatshwayo.
