1. Birth Place
Dumi was born and raised in Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal.
2. Awards
In his time, Dumi has managed to bag the 2015 Crown Gospel Awards in the Best Gospel Song category and reached golf status for one of his albums.
3. Where It All Started
The talented young artist has been in the game for at least 18 years now since he started singing at the age of nine. At such a young age, he used to sing with his family at town events such as funerals.
He launched his debut album titled Dumi Mkokstad back in 2003, which propelled him to stardom in later years. In 2010, he began enjoying even more success after joining Big Music.
Over his glittering career, he has worked with the likes of the Jaziel Brothers, Hlengiwe Mhlaba, Bethusile Mcinga and others. In 2018, he released his recent album titled Ebeke Walunga uThixo together with the likes of Thinah Zungu.

4. Dumi’s Clan
Dumi’s father is named Falithenjwa Nzimande while his mother is known simply as Dudu. The parents are quite proud of their son and have been behind him ever since he released his debut album.

5. His Very First Album
It was self-titled Dumi Mkokstad and released in 2013.
6. Relationship Status
Dumi is happily married to his beautiful wife Ziphozenkosi. They got hitched on June 6, 2019 when he was 27 and his wife 25.
Briefly News previously reported that Dumi Mkokstad has responded to critics of his love song, Ziphozenkosi. The gospel star released the song, which is an ode to his wife, on Valentine's Day. Dumi re-posted a comment from a listener who was not pleased with him releasing a love song.
She wrote, "It's a really good thing that you appreciate your wife, but some things you should do in private. We are gospel fans, not your marriage fans."
He responded, "People asked me to release it because it is a prayer kind of song, thanking God for blessing me."
