SuperSport United midfielder Sipho Mbule’s future is a subject of speculation once again and reports suggest that Mamelodi Sundowns are also eyeing him. In the recent past, Mbule has been linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs but the Brazilians have since joined the scramble for his signature.

According to local media reports, the Free State-born midfielder could be playing football for either Sundowns or Amakhosi next season.

The South African has quoted a source that coach Manqoba Mngqithi’s technical bench is keen on landing the player. A source said:

“Sundowns have an ageing central midfield with the likes of Tiyani Mabunda, Andile Jali, and Hlompho Kekana all over 30 years of age. Even George Maluleka, who was signed last season from Chiefs, is also over 30, so they want to revamp that position.”

Despite Amakhosi having a transfer ban on them from FIFA, their interest in the midfield powerhouse is well-documented.

Meanwhile, Chiefs have been constantly linked with Phathutshedzo Nange, S’fiso Hlanti, Brandon Petersen, Njabulo Ngcobo, Ruzaigh Gamilden as well Buhle Mkhwanazi’s signatures.

Briefly News reported that Chiefs don't seem to be faring very well in their recent matches. Over the last few weeks, Gavin Hunt has been called out by fans while the players were dubbed 'cows', which is why it is no wonder the team may be looking to make some replacements.

According to a source close to the team, the side's management is looking to recruit a number of new players once their two-year-long ban from buying new players is lifted; this will be taking place in July this year.
