Patrice Motsepe's election as CAF president is all but assured as another two CAF presidential hopefuls pull out of the race.

This means that Motsepe is running for the presidency unopposed. When he is elected he will be able to enact his 10-point plan to change football on the African continent.

Mauritania’s Ahmed Yahya and Ivory Coast’s Jacques Anouma have thrown in the towel leaving Motsepe as the last man standing.

This follows Senegalese Augustin Senghor’s decision to support Motsepe and end his challenge for the presidency, once he stepped back the other two candidates also dropped out of the running.

Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that Patrice Motsepe is nearing the end of his race towards CAF presidency as the candidate for the role will be selected early next month. In his last bid to secure the title, on Thursday this week when he presented his manifesto for CAF.

Growing women's football, investing in youth and African football and investing in and growing football in African countries are only a few of the list of things Motsepe promised to deliver on should he be elected president of CAF.

Meanwhile, many locals seem to be fully behind the mining mogul and have even gone as far as to call his manifesto a powerful one indeed. A lot of them also headed online to share their thoughts on the manifesto.

In other news, Patrice Motsepe seems to have various sources of support regarding his bid to become CAF president and Nigerian Football Federation president, Amaju Pinnick, is one of those who has his back.

Speaking at Mostsepe's CAF manifesto, which was held on Thursday afternoon this week at the Sandton Convention Centre, Pinnick said that he expects Motsepe to secure 30 to 40 of the 54 votes needed to secure CAF presidency - and this is something he is truly excited about.

“I travel every day campaigning for my president [Motsepe]‚ and they say‚ ‘But you are not campaigning for yourself’. I say‚ ‘Let him get in there’.
“So I can assure you‚ between 35‚ 38 and 40 [votes]," reports a Sowetan Live article.
