Recently, German giants Bayern Munich refused to pay five players for every training session and game they missed as part of rules that forced them into isolation.

And according to the report on Daily Mail, Premier League clubs are also thinking of checking the illegality of them doing the same to players.

Just this week, four matches have been postponed due to the issues of Omicron and clubs are concerned over players who have been forced to isolation.

Would the Premier League clubs get the green light?

The report added that the Premier League clubs will go into a serious battle with the Professional Footballers' Association who would definitely go against any plan to get players docked of wages.

In addition, managers in the Premier League are also said to have frowned against players who are refusing to be vaccinated.

Mane backs Mendy for Ballon d'Or

Earlier, Briefly News reported that Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has described the decision to omit Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy from the Ballon d'Or shortlist as "unacceptable."

Chelsea have five players who have been shortlisted for this year's Ballon d'Or award including Romelu Lukaku, Jorginho, Mason Mount, Cesar Azpilicueta, and N'Golo Kante.

However, Mane believes Mendy should have also made the list of nominees for the prestigious award. In other stories, this website posted that Thomas Tuchel has been handed a double injury boost after both Reece James and N'Golo Kante returning to full training. James has been nursing an ankle injury sustained during his side's Premier League defeat against Man City back in September.

Metro UK reports the full-back had to withdraw from England's squad for their World Cup qualifying matches, with his teammate taking his place in the national team.
