Loadshedding was supposed to end on Sunday 17 January but it looks as if loadshedding will be here to stay after Eskom released its three-month energy forecast.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has admitted that the government simply does not have enough money to help industries hit hard by the national Covid-19 lockdown.

Eskom has revealed that South Africa will be plunged into Stage 2 load-shedding as the power utility works on repairs and prepares for and increase in demand.

South Africa has been labelled by the UN as one of the most unequal countries in the world with just 10% of the people earning about 50% of the national income.
