In a Daniel versus Goliath scenario, Kaizer Chiefs have bested the Mamelodi Sundowns winning 2-1.
Chiefs' fans had looked forward to this match against the unbeaten Sundowns with trepidation. Not only did the Chiefs score some much-needed points they also derailed the Sundowns historic winning spree.
This was a much-welcomed win for Chiefs' fans as their team had taken up residence at the bottom of the log and the real threat of relegation was breathing down their necks.
After 21 matches without a loss, the Sundowns were stunned after the Chiefs pulled out all the stops and went the whole nine yards.
The Brazilians thought they had the match in the bag after Gaston Sirino took the lead in the 35th minute. However, Mosa Lebusa handed the Chiefs a point with an own goal.
The Chiefs seized the opportunity and took the lead after a goal from Dumisani Zuma in the 74th minute.
We are sure that Gavin Hunt is relieved after his team rose to the challenge.

Earlier, Briefly News reported that Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has warned their next opponents, Mamelodi Sundowns that they are coming for a war on Sunday afternoon.
The Amakhosi veteran says they are a big team and cannot afford to drop points in the DStv Premiership especially as they are licking their wounds heading to Tshwane.
Chiefs lost 2-1 to Cape Town City during the week at FNB Stadium and their mission is to avenge the 3-0 loss they suffered against the Brazilians in the first round.
Meanwhile, Masandawana coach Manqoba Mngqithi led his charges to a goalless draw against AmaZulu on Wednesday afternoon.
