Top 5 Premier League Managers Who Could Be Sacked First in 2024/25

  • A new Premier League season brings excitement, drama and entertainment to millions of fans worldwide
  • A new season also puts coaches under pressure to deliver results or risk losing their jobs
  • In the 2024/25 season, Manchester United's Erik ten Hag will be under the most pressure when the season kicks off tomorrow

The Premier League kicks off on Friday, but in a few weeks, many clubs will be in a crisis after a poor start.

Last season, Sheffield Wednesday's Paul Heckingbottom was the first coach to be fired, but it happened in December.

This season, there are several candidates who will be under pressure when one game doesn't go their way.

Erik ten Hag survived last season, and the FA Cup reduced the pressure. However, he could be on the chopping block if the first few games are not convincing.

Pressure is always on the coaches to deliver consistent results; failure to do so will result in their sacking. Here are some managers who will likely be fired first next season in the Premier League.

Premier League coaches who could be sacked

Eddie Howe

Howe has done brilliant work at Newcastle United, but last season was a wake-up call. They had to deal with a never-ending injury crisis that derailed their season. However, their ambitious owners have given him a good squad and expect the team to challenge for a top-four spot.

Enzo Maresca

Maresca is the latest coach in the Chelsea hot seat. With the Blues underachieving in the last few years, the former Leicester City boss will have to start achieving results quickly. Graham Potter was shown the door months after his appointment, and Maresca will be gone if there's no improvement. He led the Foxes to the Championship title, but Todd Boehly will not care.

Nuno Espirito Santo

The Portuguese tactician kept Nottingham Forest in the Premier League last season, but his team was not convincing. His reactive style worked wonders at Wolves for a few years, but it can backfire quickly if things are not going their way. He will be under massive pressure to take the club away from the relegation scrub of last season.

Steve Cooper

Cooper was fired by Nottingham Forest last season, but he took over at Leicester City following their promotion to the Premier League. His Forest team wasn't impressive and will be under pressure to keep the 2016 Premier League champions up.

Erik ten Hag

Surprisingly, the Manchester United boss survived last season. His team consistently produced poor performances, and many believed he was on the brink many times. The FA Cup triumph over Manchester City bought him some time, but he is on the clock. Man United handed him a contract extension, but performance will have to improve, or the new owners will have to pull the plug.
