“Rasta is back and is on fire” - Rasta paints portrait of Malema

Rasta celebrates another instalment in a series of artworks depicting South African public figures. This time, he has painted the likeness of EFF Commander-in-Chief, Julius Malema and remarked, “Painting nicely done on the wall” on social media.

Many social media users eagerly welcomed the true Rasta back and were glad to see him in action. Some users questioned where their beloved artist had been while others joked that they were glad his weed supplier had returned because they were getting worried.

South Africans on social media expressed their appreciation for Rasta's unique style and interesting perspectives and preferred his style to the 'new Rasta' whose portraits were previously shared on social media, as Briefly.co.za previously reported.

Even those users who felt that Rasta's portrait did not look much like the EFF leader, gladly welcomed Mzansi's national treasure back and expressed that they still missed him and his work during his 'hiatus'.

Many South Africans shared their critiques on Rasta's Malema portrait and pointed out the nose and ears in particular, Briefly.co.za found.
