When thousands gathered for the Women's Day Celebration at DP World Wanderers Stadium on 9 August, 2025, they were hoping for a memorable evening of music and celebration. However, Donald Nkomo, a passionate concert-goer, was left disappointed.
Organised by Vertex Events and Soulful Night SA, the concert featured Anthony Hamilton and Joe Thomas. Local artists Zonke, Sjava, and Vusi Nova also performed, celebrating Mzansi women. Ticket prices ranged from R750 to R1 950.

Donald took to his TikTok account to share that he didn't think the venue worked well for a concert but was better suited for sporting events.

Listing his second issue with the event, Donald shared:
"We go to a music concert to listen to the music. So, your top priority at a music concert is the quality of the sound. The sound was horrible. There was a moment Joe Thomas had to leave the stage so that they could fix the sound.
"He wanted to play the guitar for us, but he couldn't because we couldn't hear him."
Donald also shared that there were no entry tags, and officials only searched tickets at the beginning of the event.
"There were different sections, everyone was moving around, and people were sitting on other people's chairs. It was a mess."
The fourth point made was that the event organisers should have provided more food and drink, while Donald's fifth point focused on the size of the stage and screen, noting that both were too small.
"We bought tickets facing the stage. We couldn't see anything because we were blocked by the cameras, lighting, and sound people."
