"Unity Is Important": Siya Kolisi Shares Views on Gender Inequality

Siya Kolisi recently shared what he feels is a way to tackle and rid the country of gender inequality. Speaking during the SDG Global Festival of Action, Kolisi was heard saying that men and women needed to unite because they all had a role to play.
Kolisi also made a powerful statement about what women mean when they say that they need gender equality - according to the rugby star, women don't want to be treated any better than men, just equal to men.
"Women are not asking to be treated better than anyone, they want equal treatment and it is the most important thing.”

The young husband and father is no stranger to using his power for the greater good and has always made his thoughts about gender inequality very heard. In fact, last year Kolisi challenged men to stand up and take some responsibility around their households.
With everyone confined to their spaces for most of 2020, Siya encouraged men to do things around the house such as cook and clean as this would set a good example to the children that these responsibilities are not based on gender roles but that everyone needed to take part in doing them.
Briefly.co.za news also reported that Siya Kolisi is making the best use of his time by giving it to different causes that have been initiated to help the less fortunate. Taking to his social media pages, the rugby star shared information about the causes with his followers, encouraging them to help where they could.
In his first post, Siya shared a video of a project he is working on with Freedom of Movement, a shoe company that will help build a sports field for the Mbewkeni youth centre in the Western Cape. In the clip, Siya spends time with the youth he will be helping to build the field for.
His second initiative sees the sports star, husband and father helping schoolkids achieve digital learning by donating iPads to them. In the touching post, Siya shares that he had partnered with iStoreZA to help schoolkids learn easier.
