The footage shows men singing and dancing while wearing oversized white shoes. While some were amused by their choice in outfits, others said they did not want to bad-mouth the religious practice.

The video was shared by Twitter parody account AdvBarryRoux and it has gone viral online. The account itself expressed amusement over the footage, saying:

"This thing finishes me"

A few other social media media users were also amused. Twitter user Lucky Nxumalo said:

"Dressed by Kanye West"

TherealMlotshwa said:

"But why these shoes"

Spxulu said:

"Why do I think of the smurfs each time I see these shoes"

Mofokeng_sipho

"No need for leg day and the gym after this"

Others, however, though the laughter was in poor taste as it was a religious practice, apparently a group within the popular ZCC church. Twitter user SportyTuks said:

"What this guys are doing is very disrespectful to the church and its rules. Batho ba nyela di diba ele kannete!! That's what my late grandfather used to say when he saw such as a pastor"

Jason29577580 said:

"No comment, I don't want to lose my ZCC followers but as for me I must be mentally disturbed to wear such shoes"
