Young girl brings trophy home after slaying it at dance competition

- An 11-year-old girl has made Mzansi proud after winning an international competition recently

- The competition was held in Thailand and involved dance and acrobatics

- The young champion has won over 14 medals so far in her short career

A young girl has made Mzansi proud after being crowned the World Champion (in her category) in an international dance competition. The tournament was help in Bangkok, Thailand and saw the 11-year-old emerge with top honours.

Joy Vellem hails from from eNdevana, Eastern Cape. She was chosen to participate in the Get The Beat World Finals in Bangkok this month. She has been interested in dance and acrobatics since last year. The young champion has participated in several other competitions and has collected 14 gold medals so far.

A post sharing her victory was shared on Facebook by Mawetu Madikiza. Social media users also congratulated the young girl for flying the South African flag high. Facebook user Elizabeth Margaret Wynne Kok said:
