South African Netflix series Blood & Water tops US must watch chart

Netflix's new South African series Blood & Water is dominating! Not only is it topping boards in SA, but it is also topping boards all over the globe.

Seeing one of our very own shows make such a big impression all over the world is something that has filled our country with pride.

Briefly.co.za learnt that the Netflix Original Series has taken the number one spot on the top ten must watch on Netflix US – that is huge!

The virtual screening was aired on the Netflix YouTube channel in over 190 countries across the world and trended at number nine – shortly after the release, it was trending in the top three spots.

With a cast comprising of Natasha Thahane, Ama Qamata, Gail Mabalane, Cindy Mahlangu, Arno Greeff, Dillion Windvogel and Khosi Ngema among others, there is no wonder the show is such a hit.

The show revolves around the exploits of Puleng Khumalo (Qamata), an intelligent and impulsive 16-year-old with a secret no one can know. The witty, drama-packed storyline has people hooked.

Blood & Water is the first South African original to take the number one spot on Netflix US top ten must watch series – the people of Mzansi are truly so proud!

Aside from the number one spot in the US, Blood & Water has also taken the number one spot in countries like France, Bahamas, Jamaica and many others. It is safe to say that this series is dominating globally.
