US rapper Dr Dre has officially been released from hospital after weeks of staying in the hospital and dealing with a brain aneurysm.

The Let Me Ride artist was on Friday discharged but is expected to be closely monitored by medical practitioners who will be with him 24 hours a day as he recuperates.

The music producer has had the year start on a rough patch for him and was in a fierce battle with his estranged wife who is also seeking to divorce him.

The 55-year-old was last week forced to pay the wife Nicole Young, KSh 200 million as temporary spousal support.

The two are said to have gotten married without signing any prenups and the rapper risks losing more than half of his hard-earned money through the divorce.

As if bad luck had come to tear his house down, the artists had burglars attempt to break into his house in Los Angeles.

He was still in hospital and scheduled to go for surgery when thugs tried to break into his Brentwood home.

However, the police officers confirmed that the thieves were not successful in breaking in and further launched investigations into the matter.

The rapper has however been in good spirits and even posted a picture of himself in his studio on Instagram on January 6, sharing the good news with his fans about his improving health. He also thanked them for their prayers and encouragement during his trying moment. See his post below:

In other news, legendary hip-hop producer Dr Dre is recovering in hospital after suffering a brain aneurysm on Monday in Los Angeles. The US rapper took to social media on Wednesday, 6 January and told his fans that he's doing great.

Dr Dre's name has been trending on Twitter since the news of his hospitalisation broke. His concerned fans have taken to the micro-blogging app to wish the superstar a speedy recovery.

Dre took to Instagram to thank all his supporters from across the globe for showing him love while he is getting medical attention in the hospital. Dre shared a snap of himself in studio and captioned it:
