Love means caring; it means always being there for your loved ones in their time of need.
This was brought home by top American TV host Ellen DeGeneres recently after taking to social media to share details about one of the most scary moments in her life involving a loved one. In this case, it was her stunning wife, actress Portia Rossi
According to Ellen, Friday, March 19, was one of the scariest days in her life after she was forced to rush Portia to the hospital following a health complication. At the time, they had had no idea what was going on.
Sharing her experience during her hit show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, on Tuesday, March 23, Ellen with her usual candour told her audience that the situation was so bad that she found her wife Portia on the floor on all fours.
The TV host said that Portia had earlier assured her that she was fine, but she could not take her word for it because she saw the suffering her partner was going through.
Ellen told her audience that she could not just sit back and relax, especially after learning from Portia that she had not been doing quite fine as far as her health was concerned.
"I rush her to the ER and we are driving, and I'm worried about her, and I don't know what is wrong with her because, as you know, I grew up Christian Science. So my best guess was... a demon?" Ellen said.
Ellen rushed her wife to the hospital and doctors diagnosed that Portia had a burst appendix.
Thanks to the fast response, Portia was able to be operated on in time before it got to a dangerous stage. The TV host revealed she went through a scare, but her wife Portia was treated and discharged from the hospital. Ellen told her fans with her usual dry humour:
"She's home. She came home late yesterday. Not all of her, she left her appendix at the hospital."
