Two days ago, Israella Bushiri, the eight-year-old daughter of Malawian Prophet Shepherd Bushiri died from a lung infection.

The body of the young girl has been brought back to Malawi for her burial, with her dad penning an emotional poem on his social media pages.

"Whilst your mother and I are welcoming you back home from where you made your last breath, my heart I pour out to you," he wrote.

Attached to the emotional poem were photos taken at the airport showing the aircraft carrying her remains with family and church members gathered to receive her.

Israella died while receiving treatment in Kenya, with the self-proclaimed prophet accusing the government of delaying her exit-entry to seek treatment.

According to him, his daughter was the unfortunate victim of his continued wrangles with the South African government.

"It is very disheartening and sad, therefore, that my daughter has become a victim of the persecutions that we are facing from South Africa," he lamented.

In a post on his Facebook page the day she died, Bushiri eulogised Israella as a strong girl who loved to worship and serve God despite her young age.

Bushiri, who runs Enlightened Christian Gathering Church is expected in a court, alongside his wife and other co-conspirators to face an extradition case.

The group is accused of money laundering, theft and fraud. Briefly.co.za previously reported Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife, Mary have fled South Africa for their home country of Malawi.

The couple claimed that their lives were in danger in South Africa since 2015 and the trial has exacerbated the situation.

Bushiri demanded that the South African government accede to five demands before the couple would be prepared to return.
