On Saturday, 5 September 2026, X user @aseisheated posted a screenshot of a tweet by @CediRates announcing the launch of Marrify, a Ghanaian marriage and divorce registry platform. The app, developed by Marry Right Ghana Ltd with support from Ghana's Ministry of Gender, allows users to search marriage records dating back to 1886, check whether someone is already married, and locate licensed officiants including imams, ministers of religion, and venues. Its tagline reads:

What caught South African attention was that S'dumo Mtshali's face appeared alongside the post, prompting @aseisheated to write:

Why S'dumo's Mtshali's face?

The actor has become an unlikely symbol of cheating and polygamy jokes on local social media, a reputation that now follows him after his portrayal of Jonasi in the hit Netflix series Polygamist. The moment his image surfaced in a post about a marriage verification tool, Mzansi did what it does best and piled on with humour and commentary.
