Maskandi star Khuzani Mpungose has broken his silence after fellow artist Ngizwe Mchunu allegedly accused him of meddling in a family matter and plotting his downfall. In a detailed public statement shared on 23 October 2026, Khuzani laid out his version of events and made it clear he had receipts to back every word.
How Khuzani says he got involved
According to Khuzani, the matter dates back to 22 June 2026, when one of Ngizwe's baby mamas reached out to him on social media after allegedly being beaten so severely that she was admitted to hospital. She reportedly attempted to open a criminal case but felt she received no assistance. It was only after this that she contacted Khuzani, sharing details of the incident and providing evidence, including a video, that she said showed proof of what had happened.
Khuzani was adamant that he did not know this woman beforehand and did not have her number prior to her reaching out. He stated that she came to him and handed over the information of her own free will, and that he played no role in convincing her to pursue legal action.

Ngizwe's alleged threats and the family's response
When Ngizwe reportedly learned that his baby mama had contacted Khuzani, he allegedly turned on the maskandi star, accusing him of being the one who put her up to opening a case in order to have him arrested. Khuzani says Ngizwe then hurled insults at him and made threatening remarks, suggesting there would be consequences for involving himself in his household affairs.
The situation grew more complicated when a member of the baby mama's family sent Khuzani a message warning that they intended to open a case against him for posting about their sister without her consent. The message read: "I hope you are aware that it's against the law to post about my sister without her permission or approval, and as a family we are opening a case towards you because my sister never approved of being all over your media."
Khuzani did not back down. He responded directly, writing: "I will also report your conduct to the police because I believe you are attempting to conceal alleged unlawful conduct involving Ngizwe Mchunu. In South Africa, we are all subject to the law, and people have the right to report suspected criminal activity. I am concerned that your actions may interfere with justice, and I will ask the authorities to investigate."
The musician closed his statement by stressing that he never speaks on matters without evidence, adding that the screenshot and supporting material had already been shared publicly to back his claims.
