GAUTENG — Radio personality Ngizwe Mchunu is facing serious allegations of domestic assault and intimidation after award-winning Maskandi artist Khuzani Mlungose issued a detailed public statement on 23 October 2026.
According to Mlungose's statement, Mchunu attacked the mother of his own child. The alleged assault took place on 22 June 2026 and was severe enough to require the victim's hospitalisation.
After failing to open a criminal case through standard police channels on the night of the attack, the woman turned to social media, where she reached out to an unnamed public figure for assistance.

Whistleblower steps in, then faces threats
The individual who responded to the victim's plea said they received direct evidence of the assault, including a video the woman had recorded documenting her injuries and the damage caused.
Rather than addressing the assault allegations, Mchunu allegedly accused the whistleblower of engineering his arrest and meddling in his personal affairs. The situation escalated further when Mchunu reportedly launched a public defamation campaign against the individual and made explicit threats against their family, allegedly warning that "there will be mourning" at their home.
The whistleblower clarified that contact was initiated by the victim herself out of desperation, not the other way around.
"I did not even have her phone number," the statement reads. "Stop falsely accusing me... The video was sent by the mother of your child herself, showing me the damage. I do not speak about things that do not have evidence."
Mchunu had not issued any official response to the specific allegations contained in Mlungose's statement at the time of publication.
