A Twitter user shared the current price of bread from Woolworths and called it "The bread Jesus shared with his disciples", and Mzansi wrote hilarious comments on the post.

Woolworths is known for being pricier than the average supermarket, but the cost of living in Cyril's economy is just getting ridiculous.

South Africans found relief in laughter by mocking how expensive a loaf of bread is at Woolworths, but some mentioned that it's costly because it's gluten-free.

Briefly News gathered some of the postings:

@BleezyMabaso said:

"This one fills you up for the whole month."

@SiphiwesO wrote:

"You don't buy this bread, usicela kuJehova uthi "Give us this day, our daily bread."

@Lefteye_Kaygee explained:

"Gluten free products are very expensive. And if you've noticed in the majority of the woolworths stores you can never find more than 4 loaves of that bread. They are mainly there to attract the right customer. A customer which buys one of those breads fills up their trolley."

@Tboz_M8 asked:

"Is it a mistake or it’s the real price?"

@undobeni said:

"Jonga, I stopped buying it. I must say though my tummy used to feel so good when I was eating this bread. I have IBS."

@BrightAsDawn added:

"It’s painful. Wait till you’re gluten intolerant or have gut issues and have to eat these things. I can’t even eat anything made from flour or yeast."

@ToriusPhenyo joked:

"You eat this one and your problems disappear, your English gets strengthened."
