GAUTENG — The South African Police Service has placed a R400,000 reward on the table for anyone who can provide credible information linked to the Ekurhuleni murders.

The reward was confirmed by Acting National Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane during a press briefing in Johannesburg on 15 September 2026.

Speaking at the formal police media briefing, General Dimpane said the reward is intended to bolster the ongoing investigation and encourage members of the public to come forward with what they know. The reward was made after police confirmed that eight bodies were discovered in the Ekurhuleni area within the past two months.

Speaking about the reward, the Acting National Commissioner said it was intended to strengthen the ongoing investigation.

"There is R400,000 that we are putting on the table so that we are able to strengthen our investigations. And we do appreciate the support as well as any information that we can get over and above what we currently have," General Dimpane said.
