While eight weeks is the minimum recovery time, The Athletic suggests he could potentially be out for up to three months.

What games will Diaz miss?

If the Morocco international is sidelined for the full three months, he wouldn’t return until the new year, which would significantly impact Carlo Ancelotti's plans.

In that scenario, he could miss up to 19 matches, including key Champions League fixtures against Stuttgart, Lille, AC Milan, Dortmund, and Liverpool.

Additionally, Diaz would be absent for crucial La Liga clashes against rivals like Atletico Madrid, Villarreal, Barcelona, and Girona, among others.

Medical tests have confirmed that the Englishman has suffered a "muscle injury in the plantar muscle of his right leg."
