'Uzalo' Viewers React to Nelisa Mchunu's Exit: "Kuvukiland Will Miss You"

Actress Nelisa Mchunu has left SABC 1 telenovela Uzalo. The stunner, who played the role of Fikile in the soapie, took to social media on Monday night, 17 May to share that she hjad exited the show.

She said Monday's episode was her final appearance on the popular telenovela. The star played the colourful character of Fikile, who had been in a relationship with Sbu.

Fikile and Sbu called the shack they shared Kuvukiland. The viewers of the show loved the couple who used to call themselves Beyoncé and Jay-Z of KwaMashu. After Monday night's episode, Nelisa took to Twitter and wrote:

"So today was my last episode on Uzalo, what a ride!"

The show's producers also took to Instagram and shared that they'll miss the actress. Uzalo posted a few snaps of Nelisa taking selfies with cast members and wrote:

"Not our KwaMashu Beyoncé, Not Sbu’s Sugaring Ding-Ding!! Farewell to our Beloved Fikile @neliisah There will never be one like you."

In related news, Briefly News reported that Siyabonga Shibe has officially left Uzalo. The actor recently penned a heartfelt farewell post on social media after he filmed his last scene.

Siyabonga, who played the role of Qhabanga, aka Pastor Mtungwa on the popular telenovela, shared a clip of himself dancing while the cast and crew of Uzalo sang for him. The star captioned his post:

"What a great journey it has been with #uzalo_sabc1. I enjoyed every moment of this production."

Siyabonga shared that he had made friends with the crew and cast of the show. He said working with the cast has been a "gem of a fantastic experience".

"It has been my honour to share the screen and wear those shoes of every character we play together. We really make the script come to life, we'll work again."
