8 facts about Duduzane Zuma, who’s implicated in state capture
Former president, Jacob Zuma’s son, Duduzane has been making news headlines for all the wrong reasons in recent years.

He has been implicated in the Gupta/state capture saga, alongside his infamous father.
About 8 months ago, Briefly.co.za reported that Duduzane might be one of the first witnesses called to testify in front of the State Capture commission.
In July, we reported that Duduzane Zuma revealed in an affidavit at the time that he left his wife, Shanice, at home in Dubai while he attends his court hearings in South Africa.
Duduzane was released on bail of R100 000 and had to hand over his passports, as reported on earlier by . The case has been postponed to January 24 2019.
Here are 8 facts about Duduzane:
- 34-year-old Duduzane is one of 22 children in the Zuma family.
- Duduzane has a twin sister, Duduzile Zuma.
- He was the former director of Okbay Investments and Oakbay Resources, but he resigned. He administered these companies with brothers, Ajay, Atul, Chetali, Arti, Verun and Rajesh Gupta.
- Duduzane was director of at least 11 other companies too. These included Tegeta Resources & Energy, as well as Shiva Uranium. Former public protector, Thuli Madonsela, mentioned Tegeta Resources and Energy in her state of capture report. Since the release of the report, Duduzane sold his shares in the companies.
- Duduzane stands accused of causing the death of a Phumzile Dube in 2014, when he drove into the taxi she was travelling in. According to a report by eNCA, three other people were also injured. Eyewitnesses said Duduzane was speeding in his Porsche in Sandton when the accident happened.
- In 2000, Duduzane’s mother, Kate Mantsho died of an apparent overdose of sleeping tablets and malaria medication. Kate and Jacob were married for 18 years when she committed suicide at the age of 44.
- In 2015, Duduzane married Shanice Stork in a lavish wedding at Zimbal Lodge in Ballito, a luxury coastal resort.
- That same year, the former president’s son applied for permanent residency in the UAE.
