Gospel star Neyi Zimu dies after his long battle with illness

South Africans are mourning the death of yet another greatly admired and adored man. Gospel singer and pastor Neyi Zimu has passed away.
This came after a long battle with skin cancer for which he has been receiving chemotherapy.
Neyi died on Wednesday, 4 December, Briefly.co.za gathered. He was admitted to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital’s Zakithi Nkosi Haematology Centre for Excellence for his chemo treatment.

A report by The Citizen indicates that Neyi had died at a Modderfontein hospital.
Condolences for the pastor's family and loved ones have been pouring in since news of his passing broke.
The EFF said in a statement:
"Pastor Zimu has been on the South African gospel scene from the early 1990s. No wonder in 1996 he was one of the founders of Family Factory and Joyous Celebration. This collective saw him collaborate with various artists.
"The EFF has been graced by his undying support in prayer and music. In our rallies, he has ministered and always told us to trust in God. That was his message, leading us at all times, to confess to the truth of ages, ‘In Jehovah we trust’."
