Limpopo Boy has broken his silence after a TikTok livestream featuring his former lover, Matshidiso Matilda, sparked a fresh wave of online debate.

During the stream, Matshidiso unexpectedly appeared and greeted him with what has since become a widely shared phrase: "Thobela, Papa, lekae?" She left the stream shortly afterwards, but the damage, at least in terms of public opinion, was already done, with Limpopo Boy appearing visibly shocked by her appearance.

Many viewers were quick to criticise Matshidiso for seemingly making contact with Limpopo Boy following the scandal that previously put both of them in the spotlight and risked Matshidiso's marriage. However, a portion of the backlash was aimed squarely at the dancer himself. Critics argued that by allowing her into the stream, he had shown disrespect towards her husband, Kevin Shai, and had effectively reopened a chapter that should have remained closed.

"It's my livestream"

Limpopo Boy wasted no time pushing back. He clarified that it was his moderators, not him, who accepted Matshidiso's request to join the stream, and pointed out that the blame being directed at him was therefore misplaced.

"My moderators are here to do what they want. Now I'm 'Not man enough,' I'm 'disrespectful,' during my livestream?" he said.

He went further, insisting that even if he had personally accepted the request, the choice would have been entirely his to make.

"Even if I was the one who accepted the request, it's my livestream. My moderators did what they did; now you blame me?" he added.

The dancer also took aim at what he described as targeted negativity, suggesting that much of the criticism was coming from men who harboured ill feelings towards him rather than any genuine concern about the situation. He labelled them "haters" and proceeded to tell them off.
