Kevin Shai has shown the world exactly what he means by "a man must make a plan," after sharing a video of himself returning from a jewellery store with a brand new wedding ring for his wife, Matshidiso Matilda.

In the clip, which circulated widely on social media, Shai explained that Matshidiso had phoned him in a state of panic after misplacing her ring. Rather than waiting, he made his way to American Swiss on the same day to sort the situation out.

"I went all the way to American Swiss to get a new ring. Everything is fine now, danko!" he said, holding up the ring box for the camera.

From leaked videos to TikTok live drama

Back in August 2026, Shai and Matshidiso found themselves at the centre of a high-profile social media scandal after a private video involving her and dancer Limpopo Boy was leaked online. The fallout was significant enough that Shai temporarily stepped away from his social media accounts altogether. He eventually chose to forgive his wife, and the two reconciled publicly.

Earlier in the year, the couple had marked a major milestone in their relationship. Celebrating the anniversary of their lobola ceremony in April, Kevin posted a heartfelt tribute reflecting on their journey together:

"When I look back to this day, I thank God I took the right decision. I mean, it’s been a wonderful year for us as husband and wife; we learn, and we grow every day."

The ring video arrived not only months after that initial scandal, but also on the back of another wave of criticism directed at Matshidiso.

She had appeared on a TikTok livestream hosted by Limpopo Boy, and the brief reunion did not go unnoticed. Others suggested it was a calculated move to revisit the viral notoriety that came with the original controversy.

For many viewers, Shai's cheerful ring video landed in the middle of all that noise, making it difficult to celebrate the moment without the backdrop of the ongoing drama colouring the conversation.
